Explore What We Offer

From retail positions, to gardening events and even working here in the office with us, the ACTIV team is determined to give local people access to the best volunteering opportunities in the area!

Supporting the community

COMMUNITY

How We Help

The ACTIV Programme is dedicated to empowering individuals to enhance their skills, enrich their experience, improve their well-being, and tackle social isolation. Our primary goal is to provide you with the chance to contribute to your community by volunteering with organisations such as the NHS, British Heart Foundation, local Foodbanks, and numerous other community-based organisations in Wolverhampton.

With this support, we are aiming to arm all participants with the confidence and knowledge to be socially engaged with the community and have access to opportunities around the city that could progress into something amazing. The project also offers opportunities to progress onto further learning, employment and self-employments, all made possible by the beneficiary gaining skills from volunteering.

Feedback & Support

Our volunteers assist us with providing feedback and support to help us to shape our services to ensure that they meet the needs of our users.

  • Our Volunteering enables people to play an active role in their society and contribute to positive social change.

  • Our Volunteers helps to break down social barriers and offer people an opportunity to socialise with people from different social and cultural backgrounds.

RECENT PROGRAMMES

Opportunities

Bilston Craft Gallery Gardens

Recently our volunteers have been helping out in the gardens at the Bilston Craft Gallery.

This is a 6 week programme where we are delivering basic horticultural training to Wolverhampton residents who are looking to upskill themselves, gain experience, improve health and wellbeing, overall tackling chronic loneliness. On the Project, participants can expect to work within groups and individually to complete small tasks which, together, will develop the garden at Bilston Craft Gallery. This is led by our previous client : Rudgewood, a company that offers horticultural services across the Black Country. Initially they received self-employment support from us at Access to Business to develop their company, leading to them receiving a grant to support their services.

At the end of the 6-week Programme, if the horticulturalists are happy with the progression made on the Project, participants may receive their Level 1 certificate in horticulturalism!
