The FISCAL Project

FISCAL works to empower beneficiaries to improve their financial education, money management, budgeting skills and financial confidence through workshops and one-to-one support. Sessions include how to be ‘better off in work or self-employment’. The project assist beneficiaries to gain skills and look for work.

The project runs 5 separate programmes with each of the 5 partners delivering one programme each in their identified location.

Beneficiaries learn financial management skills including and how to be less reliant on benefits. They discover ways to shop on a budget, food preparation on a budget and ways in which they can reduce spending. Each beneficiary is introduced to the Money Advice Service website to make them aware of the MAS budget calculators and to understand the benefits of earning income through employment.

During the previous Black Country Community Grant project “Back-on-Track” project Wolverhampton Learning Platform was able to support 52 unemployed clients providing a wide variety of employment related opportunities for people from a range of backgrounds and abilities.
